Saygun Dura worked as a photographer and director of photography for an advertising agency between 1989-1996. Since then, he has been running his own advertising photography studio.
Dura has lectured in various universities on photography. He curated the book and the exhibition “Deep Sea Illuminators”, worked in the photo shoots of “Do You Know Hasankeyf?” project, took underwater photographs of the project that aimed at producing the underground map of the cisterns, wells and waterways of Topkapi Palace. Many of his works are currently a part of private collections and some are being displayed in museums.
Besides being recognized by various national and international awards, he also held personal exhibitions in Istanbul and New York, participated in many group exhibitions and panels, and appeared in selection committees.
Saygun Dura is a diving trainer and provides underwater photography trainings. He carries out underwater photo shoots and workshops in many parts of the world.
